What this site is
This site is the live demonstration of microfolio. Everything on it — the cards, the filterable list, the world map, the lightbox reading camera metadata out of the images — was built by the generator from a folder of Markdown files. The projects are the Bauhaus collection: thirty-one fictional works of architecture, design and art, written and drawn for the occasion, as a nod to the school that gave version 1.0 its code name.
Made by AKER
microfolio is designed and built by AKER, a French studio working where design meets code. It exists because portfolios kept ending up in tools that outgrew, outpriced or outlived the people using them — and because a body of work deserves better than a subscription.
What it believes
Form follows content. A portfolio site has one job: put the work first and get out of the way.
- A portfolio should outlive the tools that made it. Plain files do.
- Simplicity is a feature. One config file, one folder per project.
- Sobriety is respect — for your visitors' attention, their privacy, and the energy a page burns.

From 0.1 to 1.0
microfolio started in the summer of 2025 as a small tool in the hands of a group of beta testers — creatives who were promised nothing and reported everything. Eighteen releases later, their bug reports, confusions and ideas have become version 1.0 Bauhaus. To all of them: thank you.
